Valdosta State University is a public university in Georgia’s University System, based in Valdosta. Founded in 1906, it offers academic programs from associate through doctoral levels. Its English Language Institute (ELI) serves international students who want to build their English skills or prepare for university study.

ELI students take a placement test and study in one of six proficiency levels. The program provides 20 hours of weekly instruction, with classes covering areas such as grammar, reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Completing the highest level with the required grades may allow eligible students to enter VSU degree studies without a TOEFL or IELTS score, subject to other admission requirements.
