Maynooth University
Maynooth University is an autonomous university in Ireland, formally established in 1997 under the Universities Act. Its institutional history reaches back to St Patrick’s College, founded in Maynooth in 1795, but that earlier date refers to its origins rather than the founding of the university itself.
The university offers undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programmes across the humanities, social sciences, science and engineering, including areas such as business, law and education. It reports a student community of more than 17,000 people from over 100 countries.
